home innovation
about the space
Home Innovation is Target’s flexible floor-pad which updates seasonally; engaging shoppers in order to drive basket-building, improve value perception, and increase brand love.
This space is in 1,300 of the best-performing stores, so we leveraged it to launch new brands, design partnerships, and limited-time offers. The following work represents some of my favorite sets over the years, complete with a video showcasing the evolution of this space across seasons from 2019-2020 (due to Covid, Holiday 2020 was the last physical set we built in the Mock Store during my time with Target).

hundreds of illustrations
(yes, hundreds)
across all “innovation spaces”
Using the Home Innovation floor pad as the jumping-off point, my work expanded to include all “innovation spaces” across the Home pyramid. From tabletop and decor to bedding and bath, this ensured seasonal synergy across spaces and created a connective thread throughout the total in-store experience.
Over my years with the brand, I produced hundreds of illustrations. Many of these were multiple options of the same conceptual customer experience, as the intent here was to align the Product Designers, Merchants, Planners, and Signage teams with the Visual Merchandising Strategy at the onset of each season. This work enabled the broader cross-functional team to align (and pivot) on big bets and approximate SKU counts throughout the product development lifecycle - before a single item was sampled!
